November, 2025: Snow Leopards | Mongolia (In Planning)                 

Mongolia’s Altai mountains have the greatest concentration of snow leopards. We fly from Ulaanbaatar to Bayan-Ulgii and take off with our guides from NewMilestoneTours, three photographers and one guide per vehicle. We spend five days in the field, and also visit eagle hunters. Trackers search for leopards before our arrival, and track them in the snow. Conditions may be difficult, with lows possibly down to -20 F.

May, 2025: Orangutans | Borneo (In Planning)

Spend at least 7 nights and 8 days in Borneo photographing orangutans, pygmy elephants, hornbills, and other wildlife. Currently evaluating both Malayan and Indonesian itineraries.

Fall, 2024: Baltic CIrcumnavigation

On this cruise we will sail around the Baltic, visiting Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany, and Denmark. Before the cruise, plan on visiting Bratislava and Prague. Cruise will be on Oceana’s Sirena.

February, 2020: Ski the French Pyrenees

From our base at the Hôtel Central in Barèges, ski the French Pyrenes resorts of Tourmalet and the surrounding area. Excellent slopes, outstanding food, and scenic vistas.

August, 2019: Jaguars of the Pantanal, Brazil

In the past decade scientists located an area in Brazil populate by a large number of elusive jaguars. They are regularly spotted along river banks and adjacent jungle.  While jaguars are the primary photo subject, there is a wide variety of birds and other animals to observe and photograph. Lodging is clean, but basic, and up to 6 hours per day will be spent in small boats on rivers.

Starting from Casablanca with our Berber guide, we will visit the Atlas Mountains, camp in the desert, and visit historic sites in Fez and Rabat.  Nights camping in the Sahara will be moonless: great opportunity for star trail photography!

We are calling this trip Temples, Tigers, and Tandoori! Spend three weeks immersed in some of India's most intriguing cities, monuments, and wild areas. Delhi, Jaipur, Bagru, Ranthambhore National Park, Agra, Gwalior, Orchha, Khajuraho, and Varnasi. Along the way we will be staying in small family hotels sampling local food and taking cookin lessons. September 5-13, 2017: Great Bear Rain Forest, British Columbia

Board the 92' schooner Maple Leaf in Bella Bella, and spend the next nine days in BC's Great Bear Rainforest photographing grizzly bear, black bear, and with luck a Spirit Bear. Spirit Bears have white or cream colored fur, and are a black bear subspecies. They are not albino. The First Nations' people called them Spirit Bears to remind them of the time ice and glaciers covered the land. It is also not unusual to encounter bald eagles, Orca and Humpback whales. December 2016 - January 2016: Southeast Asia

This is a combination land excursion and cruise starting and ending in Hong Kong. We begin by flying to Siem Reap in Cambodia for five days of touring Angkor Watt and the surrounding areas. We will also attend a Cambodian Apsara dance production. Then fly to Singapore where we board the Azamara Journey for visits to Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Halong Bay/Hanoi. The cruise ends in Hong Kong, where we will fly home.
